    on  he first day of October 1960 a nation founded some decades ago gained its independence, a great nation that consists of great people . that day every soul in that country were rejoicing the end of imperialism in the giant of africa ,the end of political slavery and domination. but we did not really understand our problem , the administration started under the leadership of sir abubakr tafawa balewa, chief namdi azikwe and a number of notable nationalist. corruption srucked  the country and tribalism was the order of the day, the western region tore apart on the note of favourism , social and political injustice and all other related vices thus the military saw this as an opportunity to intervene in the political affairs of the country and exploit the poor civilians, a group of five majors from the nigerian military headed by major kaduna nzeogwu sruked this brought into power the tribalistic government of aguyi ironsi .

so the military intervaned and the country was ruled by a military council made up of edet, wey, and ironsi and some other notable men in the military. the country became a ground to express tribalistic grievance .so the same year 1966 of the first coup the second coup occured barely six months later as a revolutinary coup against the igbo the coup brought into power the regime of yakubu gowon .

thus the igbos counted this as a tribalistic war between them and the hausa so revolutionary war srucked under the leadership of general ojukwu odumegwu of the eastern region and the thirty month civil war of nigeria lasted from 1967 to 1970 after the flee of ojukwu and the surrender announcement of general efiong .after some years a new military coup strucked and brought into power the government of general muritala ramat muhamad  during his era he restructured the economic system of nigeria and he fufiled our forgotten dreams but barely six months after he was murdered by colonel buka dimka who was also killed by the successor of murtala by firing squad.

after the death of murtala he was succeded by general olusegun aremu obasanjo . he ruled the country for three years .

obasanjo handed over power to the civilian government of alhaji shehu shagari .

under him corruption was launched as a legal enterprises and evidences were burnt down and destroyed to prevent challenges in the future , this gave the military another opportunity to interfere in the affairs of the country and thus a new military coup sruked and brought into power the government of general muhammadu buhari and tunde idiagbon

during this regime discipline was the other of the day the stolen money was refunded and corrupt politicians were tried and imprisoned and a lot of exercises were implemented example of which is the ''the wai ,queque culture , work ettics etc.after two years a military coup was staged and the  government of general ibrahim badamosi babangida [ibb] came into power

the government was reportedly corrupt under his administration the freest and fairest of elections in nigeria was conducted on june 12 1993 and was annuled by general babangida . due to the political unrest in the country then he stepped aside and handed over the government to the interim government of chief ernest shonekan
